We work directly with medium/large general contractors that have a need for a capable carrier from the beginning to end of a demolition project. We haul away the old and bring in the new earthwork material. We provide efficient solutions to our clients hauling challenges. Position Summary

 

Seeking CDL-A Driver: Responsibilities include driving a tractor trailer or straight truck intrastate and/or interstate on local, over-the-road (OTR), during the day and/or overnight. Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers. Duties may include loading and unloading cargo. Ability to record cargo deliveries, Refuel and clean behind oneself in vehicle. Complete timely reports, and communicate road incidents to the dispatcher. Follow company accident procedures. Follow all traffic laws. Complete and timely submit Pre and post inspection sheets. Inspect trucks and record issues. Keep an activities log and log hours on paper or electronally. Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel. Take direction from the dispatcher and other personal staff. Plan and follow routes using a GPS system. Maintain a positive attitude with customers. Keep all licensing and certification up to date.

 

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

 

  • Perform all required safety checks (i.e. pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.

  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately report any and all safety hazards.

  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded. Check and complete in an accurate and in legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight.

  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route delivery schedule.

  • If necessary unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas. Perform damage control checks on items, scanning and contacting supervisors about removing orders according to company policy. Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.

  • Ensure that tractor, trailer and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times.

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience

 

6 months CDL driving experience for trucking school graduates or 1-year CDL driving experience

 

Required Qualifications

 

High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent, or individuals enrolled and obtaining their HS Diploma, must have a valid CDL Class A, and meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable) Must be 21 years of age Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years. Ability to pass post-offer drug tests and criminal background checks,. Ability to pass road tests, maintain a valid current DOT medical Card and/or be able to secure a new DOT medical card. Must be able to manually tarp if it’s necessary, and lift 75lb. Desired Abilities: Utilize lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift.
